The Grand Vajrakilaya Year-End Obstacles Removal Puja

Vajrakilaya, Dorje Phurba is one of the Eight Great Herukas (Kagyed) of Nyingma tradition. The Dorje Phurba practice belongs to the Eight Great Sadhana, which formed the basis of various other sadhana practices of the Nyingma tradition.

Dechen Choekhor practices the Vajrakilaya ritual of Minling Terdag Lingpa, a Nyingma terma.

Vajrakilaya is a deity that embodies the enlightened activities of all Buddhas, manifesting in an intensely wrathful appearance but with incredibly deep compassion. This practice is renowned for its immense power and swiftness to cleanse negativities, pacify hostile forces and remove obstacles on the path to enlightenment, as well as worldly endeavors, which is so prevalent in this time of degeneration.

Jetsun Choekyi Gonpo presides over the Grand Phurbe Tordhok at Dechen Choekhor.

Dechen Choekhor practices the Vajrakilaya ritual of Minling Terdag Lingpa, a Nyingma terma. The Phurbe Tordhok puja invoked the wrathful activities of Vajrakilaya, which is traditionally performed on the final few days of the last month of the year to destroy, cleanse and pacify all the negative forces, demonic influences, undesirable circumstances, ill luck, sicknesses, and obstacles before the beginning of New Year. That's why it's also sometimes called the "Year-End Obstacles Removal Puja" - removing and pacifying all obstacles accumulated over the entire year.

Through participating in this puja, one's obstacles will be pacified, and the favorable conditions for temporal and spiritual pursuits will be increased and improved.
